As the seasons rapidly change, we find ourselves with the usual Autumn chores; putting away Summer clothing, toys, and accouterments, preparing our pantries and linen closets for Autumn (and Winter). The rhythm of 2020 has disrupted much of our usual flow but the seasons continue to move on their course, and we must attend to the mundane maintenance of our nests. This is a great time to try new recipes while you take stock of your stores, and decide what to keep on your shelves. Speaking for myself, I bought a new stock pot.

And now, to the cards!

THEME: CLEAN IT UP: This is the time to de-clutter everything – your home, your mind, your schedule, whatever! You do not need extra bags or baggage so move it all along. Remember, your trash is someone else’s treasure.

INFLUENCE: Ten of Swords. Thank goodness that’s over! Time to lick your wounds, review your lessons, make notes for the future, and move along.

INFLUENCE: Six of Swords. Sail on, Sailor! You have waited long enough – it’s time to ship out! Your journey must get underway, and no other passengers are required. This is definitely a “Go your own way!” moment because it is your own journey – you MUST NOT allow others to impact your course.

STRATEGY: Judgement (20). Choose to be authentic in your thoughts, words, and deeds – respond with sincerity. DO NOT allow the behavior of others to deter you.

There are few things more important than authenticity, and it is becoming increasingly rare. The time to choose to be your own fully-actualized self is right now but you must choose it for yourself – no one chooses it for you. What’s worse, you may find people are only supportive when your truth does not impact them – that is unfortunate but it is also not your problem.

Be real. Be raw. Be powerful. You got this!

HELLO, ALL!

I hope this finds everyone happy, healthy, and thriving as we head into the last quarter of 2020.

Without a doubt, we have all found 2020 to be a challenging year in any number of ways, and it is my most fervent hope we will have learned some important things for moving forward. As one quite brilliant friend explained to me, 2020 is the year of perfect vision – we cannot help but see. What will we do with it? That remains to be seen – fingers crossed for positive, appropriate and authentic outcomes.

And now, to the cards!

THEME: DEEP KNOWING. When you know, you know. Stop fighting it – it doesn’t matter why/how you know – believe it. Trust yourself, and what you know to be true;  be authentic, act accordingly.

INFLUENCE: Eight of Swords. Stop torturing yourself! It’s not as bad as you think it is – get off your knees and roll up your sleeves!

INFLUENCE: Five of Pentacles. The struggle is real but it is not hopeless, and you are not helpless. It’s okay to rest a bit but wallowing is not welcome – get after it!

STRATEGY: Seven of Swords. Live to fight another day. Take what is yours and go.

I know what you are thinking, and I can hear you, “Just another Monday in 2020!” That may be true, and I know how tired we all are, but personal conservation of resources (energy, brain power, money) is important right now – not because there isn’t enough but because we will need to use it differently moving forward, and the learning curve may require more than we realize. This is not the time to waste energy on tortuous worry, or arguing with people you can never reach, so get off your knees and roll up your sleeves because there is much work to be done, sooner rather than later.

HELLO, WATER BABIES! 

I have not enjoyed Episodes 1 – 5 of  2020; I better see seriously improved writing in the back half of the season!!! 

Unfortunately. Episode 6  opened with on-going reports of civil commotion across the country (in the US), and China squaring off with India in earnest over Himalayan borderland. Seriously, worst reality show ever.

Loving all the people has never been more important. True when Jesus said it. True when MLK said it.  True when John Lennon said it. True now. Earth may resist, and Fire may want to fight, but The Great Flood was WATER – in fact, we can change The World! 

CANCER: GO THE DISTANCE/Three of Wands: Without question, moving forward with love, and spreading it as far and wide as possible, will take endurance on every level. True, positive progress can be made but not without great effort. 

SCORPIO: TO THE SEA/Three of Swords: Time for a sea-change; your disappointment is not an issue for anyone but you – take the lesson, move with the work at hand – do not fight the current.

PISCES: REGENERATION/The Hermit: You will have a second chance – a reset, if you will – but only if you do the personal work required. The World needs your Divine Light and Blessed Water – please be ready.

I don’t know about you but I plan to give 2020 a scathing Yelp review!

Remember when we thought things would be looking up by June? 

As of this morning’s news report, we kick off June with on-going civil commotion across the country (in the US), and China squaring off with India in earnest over Himalayan borderland. 

FINDING THE TIMES INTERESTING ENOUGH SO FAR?!?!?!?

There have been too many small minds at work, and we are feeling the inevitable results. Cleaning this up will take well-thought plans – SEND IN THE AIR SIGNS!!!!

GEMINI: NOT FOR YOU/The Wheel: When we are disappointed, frustrated, or feel we are  failing, it is difficult to remember “God’s greatest gift is unanswered prayers.” The truth of the matter is our plans do not always work out as we think they should – and if you pay close attention, you will see that is a good thing – and making changes is not failure. Change is afoot for sure, and we will all be better for it when all is said and done. (P.S. Happy Birthday, Gemini!)

LIBRA: UNFINISHED SYMPHONY/Justice: Closure is a myth; grief takes its own sweet time and there is absolutely nothing to be done about it. Be honest with yourself about what you do, how you feel, and your true path to the other side of it. Some wallowing may be called for but remember, your visit should be brief – you cannot live there.

AQUARIUS: HIGHER POWER/Queen of Swords: Be strong. Get tough. Deliver it straight. This is not a time for pussy-footing around. Your desire to avoid responsibility serves no one at this time – and that includes YOU!

I don’t know about you but I am finding 2020’s attitude very poor, and I want to speak to the manager!

Remember when we thought things would be looking up by June? 

Well, as it happens, we are kicking off  June with on-going reports of civil commotion across the country (in the US), and China squaring off with India in earnest over Himalayan borderland. 

FUCKING SERIOUSLY?!?!?!?

The World needs cleaning up – if ever there was a job for Earth Signs, this must be it! It’s time to plan the work and work the plan as only Earth can!

TAURUS: SERENDIPITY/Page of Swords: You are coming into Magical Alignment; I know you can feel it as it is creating an extra restlessness – channel it all into action! (NOTE: Speed is not necessarily indicated – a mindful pace will get you there.)

I don’t know about you but I am finding 2020 to be the worst subscription box yet!

Remember when we thought things would be looking up by June? 

As if fires, plague, and murder hornets were not enough, we now kick off June with on-going reports of civil commotion across the country (in the US), and China squaring off with India in earnest over Himalayan borderland? 

JANE! STOP THIS CRAZY THING!

As so often happens, the keys to making things better are entirely in our own hands – particularly true for action-motivated Fire – so let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work.

ARIES: LOYAL HEART/10 of Cups: It’s all about love right now; your ability, and willingness, to devote yourself (and your resources) to what moves you heart is put to the test. Your consistency is the key – make the changes you want to see.

Hello, All!

I hope everyone is warm and well, weathering the pandemic safely wherever you are. As you may have noticed, this blog has taken a pandemic hiatus; just a rest and recharge for a bit but getting ready to come back very soon.

While resting, I began to think about readings, readers, clients, spreads, cards – you know, tarot stuff – and I began to think about one of the things readers always talk about when we are together: the questions clients ask. 

The questions fall into two large categories, Love and Money (all things Venus, really), and they breakdown as follows:

1. LOVE: Everything that matters to people emotionally: sex, lovers, partners, spouses, family, children, pets  
2. MONEY: These things make, or cost, money and resources: job, home, health, prospects, projects 

Naturally, these questions are a card reader’s bread and butter; people have questions, need help with clarity and focus, and card readers are here to help….but some questions, simply do not require cards. Some questions, no matter how many times they are asked, do not rise above mundane answers.

• COMMON QUESTIONS: Will he cheat? / Will he cheat again?
• APPROPRIATE MUNDANE ANSWER: Of course he will! And you already know it. Cheaters cheat – it is in their nature unless they choose otherwise, which takes the kind of emotional/spiritual/mental work most people just do not want to do. If he was a cheater when you met him (perhaps he cheated with you?), you already know the answer. 
• COMMON QUESTIONS: Will he leave his wife? / Will he choose me?
• APPROPRIATE MUNDANE ANSWER: He may very well leave his wife but that won’t be about (or for) you. His choosing you is incredibly unlikely (or he would have done it already), and have you considered the likelihood he’s just a cheater? Because really, the simplest answer is generally the correct one. 
• COMMON QUESTIONS: Should I see a doctor?
• APPROPRIATE MUNDANE ANSWER: YES! The very fact that you thought to ask means you already KNOW you need a doctor! (NOTE: Follow-up often includes pre-doctor questions that boil down to diagnoses – DO NOT DO THAT! It’s not fair to the card reader, and it’s dangerous. Just call the doctor!)

Just getting that off my chest. Thank you for indulging my rant.

As we walk into the last week of April, quarantine continues, and some people are becoming unreasonably antsy (read: protesting for haircuts and restaurants) when calm is what is needed.

I understand calm can be difficult for some people – turns out, adulthood is difficult.*

Our weekend takeaway: This is an opportunity to change for the better, and it is in your best interests to take advantage of it, whatever that means for you.

No matter what you decide to do for yourself or others, do it with joy and gratitude. There are ALWAYS reasons to be grateful.

*NOTE: There are many people with legitimate conditions (physical, mental, spiritual, emotional) that prevent easy access to personal calm. So far, I find people with underlying conditions are working very hard at achieving and maintaining calm. I am referring to the people who really should know better but are, overall, to self-centered to be bothered.
