Unfortunately, the result of success and stability often includes boredom. We can become addicted to the constant stress and drama of trying to achieve; once we have what we worked so hard to attain, then what? Well, the truth of the matter is fairly simple; no matter who you are, the mundane must be attended. No matter how much success you have, you still need to brush your teeth.

Be curious.

Rather than allowing this realization to pull you into a funk, embrace the calm you have earned. If you yearn for excitement: experiment with recipes, try new herbs and spices, consider a new haircut and/or color, read a book outside your usual interests.

I know you are anxious but (pay attention – this is the important bit!) you are also in control – believe it or not.

The Tower-Fool-Tower  energy was difficult this week (see previous blog entry), and you likely met with some learning opportunities and/or disappointments you did not enjoy. You may be inclined to spend this weekend wallowing in a well-earned funk, torturing yourself with an ever-growing list of shoulda-coulda-woulda.

DON’T WASTE THE ENERGY!

Self Care is your best plan of action this weekend. It is a very good idea to rest and regroup, a solid plan for moving forward.

If you are following the astro-weather, you know we are in for a shake-up (Check out Ruby’s Reading!) right down to our toes!

Courage will be required this week as everything will feel unsettled and shifting.

Frankly, it is not as grim as the cards make it look but it is serious energy to be sure; change is not just in the air, it is also in the water and the soil and the sunlight. Every step, every breath, every notion will bring you closer to changes you may or may not see until it is too late to turn back so be mindful of yourself – you are communicating with The Universe nonstop, and you are being heard!

The cards also caution of a false start…maybe. I am not so sure it is a false start so much as it may be a necessary detour before you really get going; perhaps a return to tie up some loose ends or double check on previously settled business? Whatever it is, do not be afraid, dissuaded, or disheartened by the outcome. As a great sage once suggested, you can’t always get what you want but as I understand it, sometimes you get what you need.

No matter what happens this week, make it your own priority to be happy, safe, and well in your choices as well as the outcomes. It really is up to you – fall, jump or be thrown – what happens after the landing is yours to decide; this story still belongs to you!

Welcome to the unofficial start of summer!

It is Memorial Day Weekend in the U.S. It is a time to remember the past deeds of our great defenders – servicemen/women and the civilians who supported them – and consider their extraordinary sacrifices as well as the debt we owe them for the world we live in today thanks to their bravery and efforts.

You may feel some discomfort as you realize how very spoiled we have become in this modern life; we don’t want to live without a Starbucks every other block – we canNOT imagine coffee rationed entirely. It may even occur to you some of the political events of our modern day ring a frighteningly  familiar tone to the rhetoric that led to the rise of fascism in Europe during the 1930s.

This weekend, while you are enjoying time with friends and family, be sure to spare some time for your own thoughts about improving the world around you. Ask yourself the important questions:

• Am I kind?
• Am I grateful?
• Am I generous?
• Am I helpful? 
• Am I spreading light?
• Am I sharing love?

Let the Queen of Swords be your guide; she is smart, beautiful, witty, wise, and armed with everything she needs to make the right plans to get things done. Everything you do can be made a little better with a small bit of effort (e.g. reusable coffee mugs and water bottles instead of paper cups with plastic lids and disposable plastic bottles). Your efforts may feel like a drop in a bucket but please remember, a persistent drip formed the Grand Canyon.

Third appearance in a week – drama lurking everywhere! It begins to seem unavoidable; perhaps you should just give in and get it over with? 

GET THIS, AND GET IT STRAIGHT: The choice is still yours to make!!

You are not best served by squandering resources (time, energy, etc) on drama, no matter how many times this card presents itself. There is work to be done, you need to focus, and drama is NOT romantic but rather quite tedious when you get down to it.  

Again, since the choice is your own, you can certainly indulge in a dramatic wallow but that does not make it a good idea.

I’ve got my sleeves rolled up. What about you?

How long are you willing to wait?

• If you are waiting for the perfect moment, you should know there is no such thing.
• If you are waiting for the perfect opportunity, you should know they are made not born.
• If you are waiting for Divine Inspiration, you should know it is too rare to depend upon.
• If you are waiting for anything other than your own personal responsibility, knock it off!

The World is your oyster but you still need to crack it open. Stop looking at the outside imagining a pearl, grab some tools and get started. It is time to move decidedly forward.

 It is time to take a leap of faith. Don’t worry – your wings are ready!

THE HITS JUST KEEP COMING!!

Your efforts to avoid drama will continue to be tested but it makes no never-mind to you; you plan to sink or swim on your own. 

Your position is well-established, and now it is under attack as well. You know who’s who and what’s what; detractors are trying to knock you off your game, while would-be allies are losing their nerve. This current round of drama must be met with a straight spine and a cool head.

Do not engage in the amateur dramatics; support your position with the facts and figures you have been collecting. You know you’ve got this – the facts will convince the others.

WELCOME TO A NEW WEEK OF FRESH DRAMA!!!

The Page arrives on the scene, fresh and breathless with a heartfelt, emotionally charged missive; you likely need the message but not the drama. 

As we discussed last week, drama is a choice and you are more than welcome to opt out – which I highly recommend! – and allow a cooler head to prevail.

Also as discussed last week, there is still a great deal of work to do; you simply do not have the time, energy, or resources, to squander on dramatic interplay.

TAKEAWAY: If you want drama, go to the movies. Otherwise, get back to work!

Transformation. Movement. Drama. Mastery.

WELCOME TO THE WEEKEND!!

I wish I could say we were headed into a lovely, relaxing weekend full of lemonade and peaceful strolls through local markets…yep, I really wish I could say that.

Alas, no.

This weekend is fully geared up for drama and heartbreak – why? Change can be terrifying; transformation feels like an act of violence – ever see the aftermath of forest fire, volcanic eruption, or tsunami? We fear our personal transformations can be just as disruptive, just as devastating. What if…? What next…? What about…? All unknown, all quite unsettling.

THE BAD NEWS: Avoiding personal development and transformation is not a long term solution – that which resists, persists.

THE GOOD NEWS: You can skip the drama, and get right down to business!

Believe it or not, drama is a choice. We have no genuine need to wring our hands, covered in sackcloth and ashes, lamenting our plight. Instead, we can roll up our sleeves, put up our hair, add extra lipstick, maybe drink an extra cup of coffee, and get to it. The upside: the energy you would have wasted on drama can be used to handle your business. The downside: well….there is no downside! Unless you are in show business, drama is completely unnecessary. 

This weekend is full of energy for getting things done, no matter how difficult the tasks may seem; avoid the drama and be amazed at how awesome you are!

Take a morning shower, towel dry, use body lotion(or oil) to draw your personal power symbols (words(s), sigils, pictographs, whatever works for you!) on your damp skin. As you do so, envision the symbol glowing before it disappears into your skin, supercharging you with the power and energy it represents to you. Know that you can draw from that energy throughout your day, whenever you need it. Don’t forget please and thank you. Make your day great!
