11/23/16 Alone, not lonely. Nine of Pentacles

9P Steam.jpg

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

The trick to self-empowerment: you must do it for yourself.

That’s it – no big reveal – that’s the whole story.

LADIES: Sleeves rolled up! Still much work to be done, and no one can stop you but you. So don’t!

GENTLEMEN: Not every win (or loss) is down to you! We would like to carry the water WITH you (rather than for you or instead of you) because that’s what equality in partnership means. Do not be afraid to hand us a bucket!

NOTE: It is Thanksgiving Week (in The States), and some people will no doubt have family who cannot help but go on about why you aren’t married, don’t have kids, haven’t found the career path, ad nauseam. DO NOT TAKE THIS TO HEART!! Independence does NOT mean destined to be single (etc). It means you can be with someone or not; you succeed because you are always YOU (just as you should be). AND a worthwhile partner (read confident, capable, adult) will never be deterred by independence. END OF STORY

11/22/16 Without a jaundiced eye. Seven of Pentacles

7P Steam

Take a step back, give your efforts a fair appraisal – and BE REASONABLE!!

There is nothing wrong with ambition but it is important to know the difference between ambitious goals and unrealistic ideas; know the difference and give your efforts a fair appraisal before moving further forward.

NOTE: This holiday week may find you going full-on Martha Stewart; try to keep your efforts and  expectations reasonable – you want to enjoy the holiday with your family, not worry needlessly on making everything “perfect.”

11/21/16: I just know it. The Moon

Moon Steam

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Be patient! All will be revealed. Eventually.

Until eventually rolls around, trust your instinct. Do not second guess your gut reaction. If it feels wrong, it usually is – so believe yourself when you tell you. Vibes cannot lie and your instincts work for you; they are not “yes men,” you can trust what they say.

NOTE: It’s Thanksgiving Week here in The States – start thinking about all the blessings in your life and how grateful you are to have them. An attitude or gratitude is never remiss.

11/17/16 LOOK OUT!! Eight of Cups

“It is easier to solve a problem if you can see it clearly.” Barbara Moore

8S Steam

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Feeling things are precarious? Not sure what you can do about it? Unclear on the best course of action? Feeling particularly vulnerable?

The answer is almost always the same: do the best you can with what you have. This is not likely to require extraordinary amounts of money or cleverness, just kindness and positive intentions. Be kind to your neighbors. Be an ally to those in a position of weakness. Keep your family safe by building a tribe – network of people who can depend on each other – because the strength of the wolf has always been in the pack.

“There are times when there is nothing to be done but to have a good, long cry.” Barbara Moore

5C Steam.jpg

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

It is okay to feel and express your disappointment. It is okay to feel and express your anxiety. Ditto anger. Double ditto fear. Then what?

A brief rest to grieve is certainly allowed – take some time to heal from your disappointment. But do not take too long – it is also time to suit up for whatever comes next. We are not without capabilities and resources, we can handle whatever the future holds. Let us not behave as if all is lost and we cannot go on – we can, and we will, as always we have. Even Scarlett O’Hara knew “tomorrow is another day.”

So have a good cry, take a hot shower, get a good night’s sleep; tomorrow, we rise.

11/15/16 Stand together. Five of Pentacles

“There’s no sugarcoating it: these are hard times. Very hard times indeed.” Barbara Moore

5P Steam

((The Steampunk tarot, Moore and Fell))

OK – hard times are definitely upon us. President Elect Trump plans to turn back the civil liberties clock, Brexit is underway, and Putin smiles like the Cheshire Cat. There is no joy in Mudville.

TODAY’S TAKEAWAY: We are not alone.

As indicated with yesterday’s King of Cups, love and relationships are important; clearly spelled out today, we need one another perhaps more than ever. Since we are not alone, since we are all in the same boat, since we have no choice to ride out the current events shaping the landscapes, let us be good to one another – let us work together to keep each other not only safe but also secure in our daily lives.

The struggle is real but so is the support – MAKE IT SO!

11/14/16 Relationships matter. King of Cups

KC Steam.jpeg

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

This King is the perfect consort to our Super Moon.

Relationships matter; we do not need to agree with each other – we do not need to respect other opinions – but we do need to respect each other, and behave accordingly.

Your current feeling of disconnect is an illusion; do not make it real by giving in to it. Reach out to strengthen your existing relationships as well as forge new ones.

As always, Love is the answer.

11/11-13/16 WEEKEND: Relax! It’s not so bad.

IMG_6836.JPG

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

We have President Elect Trump, and Full Moon Weekend.

Goodness gracious, what shall we do?!?!?!

Time to take a deep breath, a good look around, and decide where (and how) you can best affect change in the world. Start by reminding yourself we have more similarities than differences; focus on what binds us, be gracious, and practice tolerance where we differ. To that end, let us each take our own internal inventory:

  • Release: Let go that which does not serve – it’s taking up space.
  • Retain: Hold close that which is dear to you – joy is always welcome.
  • Receive: Welcome new things into your life – do not fight them.
  • Giving: Know what you are giving away – be sure it is true and appropriate.
  • Beginning: Do not be afraid to begin something new – now is the time!

Remember, there really is no THEM – it is just US – and like it or not, we are in this together, win or lose.
