“Intelligence is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is knowing not to put it in the fruit salad.” Unknown

WELCOME TO FALL!
Yes, yes, I know “Fall” does not actually technically start until the Autumnal Equinox but let’s be real right here, right now – all the kids are back to school, the pools are drained, the lemonade stands are closed, and absolutely all of the stores have moved on to boots and sweaters. Fall is here.
And I told you that to tell you this:
Be practical with this Eight of Pentacles energy; “what it is” and “what you want it to be” may not line up right now – which is totally okay at this time – so be mindful of how you spend your energy. Avoid ideas such as “But I’ve already invested so much….” because throwing good after bad is never the right answer. Same too for ideas such as “But if I just try harder….” Nope. You cannot successfully fit a square peg into a round hole no matter how hard you try – watch any Wile E. Coyote cartoon for a reality check (Chuck Jones was an absolute master at bringing all aspects of the human condition to hilarious extremes).
As September begins, allow discretion to be the better part of valor; the astro-weather will likely encourage us to be particularly impetuous as the retrogrades unravel and the energy is turned loose. Follow this pentacle energy and do NOT be in a hurry to move forward. Take a full inventory of all the lessons learned since June, and be sure to employ any new wisdom acquired.
REMINDER: If you are feeling disappointed in any way, let it go! Expectation and attachment (to plans, experiences, outcomes, interactions, relationships, etc.) will kill joy. It is entirely up to you to a) not do that! and b) look for – and appreciate – every gift you receive, even if you did not get what you believed you wanted. There is always something to appreciate, and find joy, if you look.
