Tension and anxiety have been the true forerunners this election season, and it seems many of us have forgotten a very important rule of thumb: you are not required to attend every argument. In fact, you are not required to attend any argument. (NOTE: Discussions and debates are NOT arguments, no matter how we see our politicos behave.)

 THEME: THE FATES. It is what it is. Recognize there are things that cannot be changed by you.

INFLUENCE: Ace of Swords. New ideas and inspiration – dare to dream and take a risk.

INFLUENCE: Knight of Wands. Energized forward movement; roll up your sleeves!

STRATEGY: Nine of Wands. Ready and willing to defend. Waiting and watching are also important – do not rush into battle.

Inner peace and tranquility are personal responsibilities. Love is still the answer as well as the action; make it happen for yourself, and others by extension. Make the effort – it’s worth it, and so are you.

Lately, people have been kicking up quite a fuss about getting back “to normal.”

Now, I ask you, “What is normal?”

CONSIDER: What is normal to the spider is chaos to the fly. (Wise woman, Morticia Addams!)

As I see it, the real issue is a lack of imagination; people do not like to imagine their lives differently, and that really is too bad because most people are missing out. Daring to see (and pursue!) opportunity and change as viable pathways is what humanity is meant to do – otherwise, we would still be monkeys.

And now, to the cards! 

 THEME: IMAGINE. Manifestation of imagination. Creation through visualization – if you can dream it, you can live it. (NOTE: This is not an effortless transition; you will need to roll up your sleeves.))

INFLUENCE: Page of Cups. Drama and a headache. Please go away.

INFLUENCE: The Empress (3). Selene – The Goddess of The Full Moon – nurturing abundance as well as sensuality. The Divine Feminine moves forward to support our love work.

STRATEGY: Queen of Pentacles. The gratitude and healing within a nurturing heart. Start each day with an attitude of gratitude, and spread it liberally to others – everyone needs healing, gratitude, and nurturing – when and where you can. ((CAUTION: Be careful not to deplete yourself. Set appropriate boundaries for your self maintenance.))

Things may seem a bit showy right now – extra drama lurking everywhere! – and that may not be working for all of us. If you feel a desire to take half a step back, or outright refuse what is heading your way, feel free to do exactly that. You are not obligated to accept (or even tolerate) everything you are offered; you are at liberty to decide what you want for yourself.

 THEME: PEACE. With radical acceptance of this moment, you are free from attachment and expectation. Feel the tranquility, share the calm.

INFLUENCE: Page of cups. A gracious offer but thank you, no. Drama is neither welcome or accepted here – we do not have time for it.

INFLUENCE: Two of cups. Let Love rule! It is not enough for love to be the answer, it must also be the action.

STRATEGY: Three of Swords. The disappointment of truth. This is not a tragedy – no one has ever died from disappointment – so do not waste your resources on wallowing in manufactured drama. Pick yourself up, dust yourself off, have cup of tea (or coffee, or whiskey, or water, or whatever), and get back on your path.

Fits and starts can be tedious and frustrating but that does not mean they do not serve us; sometimes, a time-out is exactly what we need. Do not be distracted by an ego in a hurry.

STRATEGY: Four of Pentacles. Attitude of Gratitude in thought, word, and action. Count your blessings, be thankful.

Getting the feeling there is nothing you can’t do?

You’re right about that but don’t run on ahead without a plan; the time to think is before you head out. No plan is perfect but you should have a few on hand nonetheless. Don’t overthink it, though – analysis paralysis is no one’s friend.

THEME: THINKER. This is the time for strategic thinking. It’s okay to follow your heart but think it through first – make a plan for your path.

INFLUENCE: The Chariot (7). Ready to move on? Speed and Action will assist (if you want them).

INFLUENCE: Queen of Cups. High emotional intelligence is necessary right now; exercise empathy but remain grounded – do not take on what is not yours.

STRATEGY: Page of Wands. Explosive creativity and infectious enthusiasm can move great distances very quickly – use it wisely.

Right now, you feel you can do almost anything.

We have been idle long enough; plans for the future have never been more important. It is time to think forward, and make long-term, sustainable plans. What do you want your 2021 to look like? 2025? 2030? Plans for the future have never been more important.

 THEME: GO THE DISTANCE. Long-term strategy for success. You can create the future you want but you must put the work into the plan.

INFLUENCE: Justice (11). Integrity and objectivity are the way to go – anything else is detrimental to the long haul.

INFLUENCE: King of Sword. Intelligence, bravery, and courage are the gifts this King brings to any table; make them your own – the world needs more of it.

STRATEGY: King of Pentacles. Master your abundance. Be sure you know the best ways to keep, use, and share your resources (time, money, space, energy, etc.), not necessarily in that order. Your own attitude of gratitude is the key to both generosity and wisdom.

If you feel unsteady, that is a normal – things are shifting – and change is stressful, even when it is positive. Last week, we saw The Wheel turning (without or without our input, this is always true). This week we are feelings it for sure, and believe it or not, that really is a good thing. More on that later.

 THEME: ORPHANED. As it happens, 2020 has been both Year of Perfect Vision and Year of Great Loss. We have all experienced unexpected changes and disruptions, creating a great deal of uncertainty about the future, and our places in it; we are surfing The Wheel for sure, and it is turning faster than ever before.

INFLUENCE: Justice (11). Karma is calling. You are accountable for your thoughts, words, and deeds; the only real truth is action – what have you done to make things better (or worse) for yourself, and others?

INFLUENCE: Four of Cups. Discontent is often the result of a lack of appreciation. If you are not counting your blessings, get to it right now. Somewhere in the world, something you take for granted every single day is someone’s great dream – clean water, as an example. START COUNTING!

STRATEGY: Eight of Swords. DO NOT LET FEAR DECIDE! You may not have created the current situation but how you handle it (and get out of it) is entirely up to you – and you can do it. Trust yourself!

Our grace under pressure is being tested – will we rise and shine? – and our success will be determined by our thoughts, words, and actions. Ask yourself, “Who am I really? Where do I want to be?” because your future is being decided your future right now; you should have something to say about it, since you are going to be responsible for it no matter what – better to be involved, don’t ya think?

INFLUENCE: Three of Pentacles. Teamwork can be your best plan to move forward – if you have the right team. Choose wisely.

INFLUENCE: The Lovers (6). Whatever you choose, invest yourself fully, or not at all.

STRATEGY: Eight of Pentacles. How far have you travelled? Follow your soul purpose with patience and determination.

Patience is a virtue…why can’t hurry-it-up be a virtue?

Like it or lump it, patience is a virtue because it is both difficult and required. But rather than holding your breath, and waiting for the time to pass, perhaps you should be doing something personally useful. Introspection, self-study, self-care are all things you can do while waiting; choose what may benefit you when the waiting is over.

THEME: OBSERVER. Objectivity through distance.

INFLUENCE: Four of Swords. Take a step back. Rest. Regroup. Refresh.

INFLUENCE: The Hermit (9). Enjoy the solitude.

You may have plans you are itching to move forward but you cannot currently see the way – that is okay. Be patient, focus inward, and keep your eyes open. Your moment will present itself, and you will be ready.
