This weekend rolls around, less dramatic than last week but still very powerful. The high energy continues to drive us forward, revelations of the last week(s) have made us wiser, and we are particularly sensitive in our dealings with ourselves and each other.

Lightning strikes again, the second time in less than two weeks. Oh, yeah! we live in interesting times.
Big changes are afoot, many of them not our own choice, but it doesn’t matter anyway because that’s the way it is. It’s time to be resourceful; a basket of lemons is en route – make lemonade, lemon squares, lemon chicken, and lemon meringue pie!

The gift of destruction is not always obvious as we watch our plans wash away in the storm but as with so many disguised blessings, we have new opportunities to make room for new and better things to enter our lives.

The interesting thing about The Lovers; they never seem to see eye to eye.
Of course, it is not necessary for people to agree on everything, and it is no less true among lovers. Compatibility is not measured by similarity so much as balance, and that is exactly what The Lovers reflect – the balance of duality.

Not all knowledge is painful, just as not all ignorance is blissful. The energy that began over the weekend continues into the start of the new week; the information you need may not be the information you want but it doesn’t matter anyhow, because that’s the way it is!
Sadder but wiser, use the new information to improve your own decisions.
PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: Bring the power of purple flowers into your home. Keep a vase of purple flowers in a window that catches the moonlight; the flowers will draw the powerful feminine energy into your home, bringing healing and expansion of consciousness (all the better to feel with, my dear). If you find yourself feeling a bit too sensitive, keep a vase of white flowers beside the bed while you sleep.

The weekend is upon us – and a busy one, too!
Feeling particularly sensitive? Are your dreams strangely vivid? Not a big surprise – Pisces season began this week (heralding the end of The Wheel). Additionally, we are expecting both a Dark Moon and a solar eclipse (also in Pisces!) this weekend, and I am told Neptune (Pisces’ ruler – sensing a theme?) is putting on a full court press, leaving many to feel a creeping ennui sucking away joy for no particular reason they can name.
The cards suggest a call to action. The ache in your heart may be real, or imagined, but it does not matter; make a move to gather your people (friends, family, loved ones, co-workers, whoever!) in as big or as small a gathering as you feel appropriate, and celebrate ANYTHING!! Make a joyful noise with music, laughter, conversation, and clinking glasses.

For a little extra oomph, heat it up (heat represents fire, a great help with grounding) and add some cinnamon. That’s right – I’m telling you to drink Mexican Hot Chocolate (or Mexican Mocha, if you need your coffee).

Well, this week appears to be starting out much as last week; King of Wands joins yesterday’s Hermit, delivering fuel for getting the job done. But take a good look at his eyes – he is tired.
TAKEAWAY: Use your energy wisely – it can be replenished but it is not limitless – there is much to be done, and your fully-committed best efforts will be needed.
PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: Need to heat up from within? Add cinnamon to your coffee (or tea, or cereal, or ice cream, or whatever), and carry hematite, red jasper and snowflake obsidian in your pocket. Your Root Chakra (the grounding base drawing all energy in from the earth below) will strengthen and you will feel increased power and energy. For increased power grounding: (under appropriate weather conditions) stand barefoot on a patch of earth, grass, or sand, feel yourself rooting to the spot, and feel the energy of the earth seeping upward through your feet.

LOOK WHO’S BACK!!!
The Hermit brings a consistent message; you must go your own way, on your own, and resistance is futile.
There is no escape – you may delay it as long as you like – The Hermit is patient, and he will be waiting with the same tasks you must complete on your own.
NOTE: I have heard absolutely EVERY argument against The Hermit, and they all boil down to the same nutshell: I don’t want to be alone. Right. No one does. It does not matter – The Hermit does not care – and the longer the inevitable is delayed, the more difficult it becomes (because ignoring issues NEVER helps).
