Just as yesterday’s King of Swords cautioned us against speaking out of turn, today’s Queen of Pentacles advises us to mind our manners.

This is not an attempt to make us go-along-to-get-along but rather, a timely reminder of the need for appropriate behavior in the face of inappropriate situations.

Many of us are experiencing an undercurrent of angst, alienation, and antagonism; there seems to be a genuine meanness at work among leadership for no real reason other than “because we can.”

This Queen has a significant problem with that behavior; it is entirely inhospitable.

The Queen of Pentacles serves as a constant reminder: we do not leave the world to our children; we borrow it from our grandchildren – and we are not at liberty to destroy what does not belong to us. We are meant to tread lightly, although we seem to have forgotten how. 

Today, because we are experiencing an energy that can be used in a myriad of ways – to build or destroy (or in some cases, both) – the Queen appears to remind us in no uncertain terms: 

BEHAVE YOURSELF!!!

The King of Swords KNOWS when to keep his mouth shut – although he would likely say he was keeping his own counsel – and he cautions us to do the same.

Heed his warnings:

• Trust but verify.
• Reserve judgement.
• Do your own research – verify your own sources.
• Do not allow yourself to be sucked into the drama of others.
• If you must speak, listen intently first – feel free to makes notes! – and think twice before speaking once.
• Ask yourself: does speaking do more good than harm? If not, consider you may be better off keeping it to yourself.

Silence can be difficult sometimes but those are usually the times when it is most important. If you struggle with maintaining silence, absent yourself from the immediate situation – if you feel compelled to participate for all the right reason, return prepared.

Remember, silence can be golden.

AND THEY’RE OFF!!

Yesterday, you were told to hold your horses; today, they’re off and running!

With or without you! 

TIME TO DECIDE: The journey is entirely yours – you must sail away to pursue that which is you and yours, whatever that may be, wherever that may take you. You may ask for assistance but it really is all about you; it may be rather selfish to ask anyone else to be a part of it, when their wants and needs will have no choice but take the far back seat.

NOTE: You may find this too much for some people – they don’t like being left out, they don’t like what you are doing, they feel you should be more WHATEVER! – and that could NOT matter less for what you have to do. The people who cannot handle this, are not your people. Not to worry; your people will certainly reveal themselves, often when you least expect it. You must sail on, Sailor!

We can all agree, the waiting can be the hardest part. And yet, sometimes, that is all there is – waiting until the time is right to move forward.

• BAD NEWS: There is no way to avoid the waiting.
• GOOD NEWS: It is an active waiting.

While you have this extra time on your hands, check, recheck, and double check your preparedness for the start of your next campaign. When everything is lined up and the gun goes off, there will be no stopping you!

In the meantime, consider adding yoga and meditation to your life; it may make the waiting easier….or not.

This weekend is about moving forward on your steam and in your own way. There are people who would endeavor to disrupt, dissuade, or deter you. Your message to them is simple:

TELL THEM TO SIT DOWN AND HUSH UP!! 

You do not have time to waste – there is great work to be done and you must get underway!

Roll up your sleeves and get down to it!!

PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: Negativity helps no one accomplish anything worthwhile. In an effort to keep negativity at bay, BURN, BABY, BURN!! Candles, incense, smudging are all good for banishing negativity. For the heavy lifting, burn palo santo while smudging – it is an excellent one-two punch! Add a fresh spritz of Florida Water, and it’s a knock out!

We all know the importance of  maintaining a healthy bank balance; after all, it is easier to be at your best when you sleep well at night because you are not constantly stressing about money. 

But is it possible to be too secure, to have saved too much? Ask yourself:

• Are you secure, or are you miserly?
• Are you careful, or are you paranoid?
• Are you sleeping peacefully, or are you feeling left behind?
• Are you an Earth Dragon hoarding your gold?

Okay, just to be clear: I am not suggesting you run right out and spend your savings – that would be irresponsible. That said, it is time to take a good look at your resources; are you spending AND saving wisely? 

TAKEAWAY: Are you investing in yourself to your best benefit? If you are not, you certainly should be. Don’t be stingy with yourself!

All things being equal, some things are easier to handle when we receive the proper assistance; though asking for help may feel uncomfortable, be brave and just do it!

After The Tower of yesterday, we need to move in a new direction with a fair degree of quickness and practicality – Page of Pentacles  is right on time! Normally, we might see this Page as someone who arrives with a plan – NOT THIS TIME! 

Page of Pentacles has arrived to remind us, simply put,  WE’VE GOT THIS! 

We have been planning and preparing all year – we were not looking for trials and tribulations but we have made ourselves ready for them nonetheless. Let’s reach into our bag of tricks and pull out the next plan.

Some bravery may be required but you’ve got that, too!!

The Tower has returned with the same message: time to start again.

WHY? As likely as not, we sacrificed function for form; we became distracted by creating and forgot all about the point of the creation.

Okay, it happens – we are only human, after all – time to revisit our priorities.

There are worse things than starting over. Often, a chance at a fresh start is exactly what we need, although we may not realize it in the moment. 

 PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: You may need some extra luck or money for all the changes that are coming your way! Freshen up with some mint! Give your day a boost by starting with a cup of mint tea; envision good luck and positive outcomes throughout your day.

Looking for money to fund your project? Keep it simple with silver coins, mint and a piece of paper. Write down on the paper how much you need, or if you need something specific, i.e. $1500 for a new fridge (not looking for anything specific – write down “Financial security”); place the items in a bowl on your altar (or a pouch you can wear, or keep in your purse). As you assemble it, envision money flowing on a white light, filling the bowl (or your purse, or pocket).  

For extra OOMPH! simmer mint in equal parts water and vodka (use cheap vodka as you are not going to be drinking it), for approximately 20 minutes; cool, strain, pour into spray bottle. Spray your doors and windows, inviting good luck to enter your home, and telling bad luck to stay out. As a bonus, it will deter some pests (ants, spiders, etc) from entering your home.
