Diligence. Disappointment. Celebration.

Hard work rewarded with disappointment – YAY!

I know, I know I know, no one says “YAY!” to disappointment but on this occasion, we are good with it.

(Yes, I can hear you out there, “What?!?!? She’s nuts! What is she talking about?!?!?”)

As you may know, this is a Dark Moon weekend (the best time for setting intentions you want to see manifest) AND we are in the throes Mercury Retrograde (MRx)….

Wait for it…

Which means it is a perfect time to review the fruits of our current labors to determine where we stand as we plan to go forward. Perhaps our efforts are not quite yielding the returns we had hoped? Or maybe we realize we are not applying our efforts to our best advantage – a more even hand would be good? 

Whatever the case may prove to be, your honest assessment is due, and you will know how best to redeploy your resources and efforts; re-think, re-vamp, revise, reinvest – and reap your rewards!

Love is in the air!!!

Have you seen Love Actually? Well, this is exactly that – never as you imagined but more important than you ever dreamed.

We have a very Virgo weekend before us; all home, hearth, family, friends, and lovers. ((SNEAK PEEK: This energy continues into next week; The Lovers is the card for Monday as well.)) 

This is an ideal energy for nurturing your life and relationships; clean out the closets and make dinner for your family – spend time making your home and loved ones more comfortable. ((NOTE: This is not a good energy for getting caught up in errands and chores as you do not want to waste the “togetherness.”))

Also, and I really cannot stress this enough, be sure to tell your loved ones how much you love and appreciate them, how grateful you are to have them in your life (and perhaps how sorry you are for not mentioning it more often). Generally, this is not a particularly Virgo thing to do so some bravery may be required – spread your wings, it’s good for you!

THE BAD NEWS: This is not at all what we wanted, and it sucks.

THE GOOD NEWS: At least it’s over.

TAKEAWAY: You win some, you lose some, and along the way, you learn things.

Not all of our plans will work out as we intend but that is okay – we are not meant to have every single thing we want. However, we are meant to learn how to roll with the punches; we must learn to win as well as lose graciously…and that takes practice.

PRESCRIPTION: Take a night off – employ your most indulgent self-care methods – get a good night’s sleep. Tomorrow, you roll up your sleeves and get right back on the horse!

We have discussed the importance of positive self-talk (more importantly, the absence of negative self talk), keeping an overall positive attitude, and staying on top of self-care. We often need reminders of these simple ideas.

ENTER STAGE LEFT: ACE OF SWORDS!

Our handy reminder for the hectic mid-week; patience with yourself is a big factor in success this week. Do not allow negative thinking patterns to get in your way. Just as we so often tell children, “When you are stuck, and don’t know what to do, try something new.”

REMINDER: Keeping a positive attitude is easier when you keep up with self-care. Take good care of yourself – you cannot pour from an empty cup.
