BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR!!!!

This message has been playing on a loop – I hope you’ve been listening!!

So often, we hear warnings as weaknesses – this warning is about power.

Your power. Your ability to achieve, to manifest, to win.

And while we all know the importance of using our energy effectively, we can be easily distracted on occasion.

TAKEAWAY: Pay attention! Focus on not only what you want but also what will be positive in your life. Remember, many things can be undone but just as many cannot – focus and get it right the first time.

And as always,

ENJOY!!

04/08-10/16 WEEKEND: Sun, Wheel of Fortune, Three of Pentacles

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

The week comes to an end – finally! – and things are already looking up!

The energy of The Dark Moon was full of potential on the verge of bursting.

ON YOUR MARK – What plans have you been making?

GET SET – Are you ready to get moving?

 GO!

Let us review the components:

  • The Sun: Truth and clarity bring happiness and joy.
  • The Wheel of Fortune: Heads up! The game is definitely afoot!
  • Three of Pentacles: Manifestation – Something’s coming! Something good!

When we put it all together, we get a positive message for the weekend: Your planning, planting and tending of your goals begin to show signs of fruition – things are moving, picking up speed and much of what is coming your way encourages you to keep going.

DO NOT MISUNDERSTAND: There is much work to be done, and you are in it up to your eyeballs. But it is all yours, and that is AWESOME!!

Enjoy!!!

ARE YOU READY TO SHAKE THINGS UP?

ARE YOU READY TO MAKE MAGIC?

ARE YOU READY FOR BATTLE?

GET READY TO GO!!

THE GOOD NEWS: You know all of those New Moon changes you wanted to make? This is certainly the time to do exactly that.

THE BAD NEWS: Suit up! It’s going to be a battle.

The first quarter of 2016 has been about revving up – shaking the champagne bottle and loosening the cork – and this Dark Moon seems to be the last moment before the cork gives way. What happens next? EVERYTHING! We are right on the edge, peek over your toes and you will see the drop – it is dizzying. So much energy,so much potential, so much power, and all ready for your next big move.

“Great. But what does it all mean?” Let’s look at the cards:

Sudden change is everywhere, striking like lightning in unanticipated places. This does not need to be devastating; change brings opportunity, do your best to improve your situation when the change hits – and do not be afraid to negotiate.

Do you know what you want? What you need? What you have? Time to take a serious inventory of yourself and your stuff; if you don’t need it, get rid of it. If it isn’t serving you positively, release it. Choose to live authentically and align your life around that choice – do not be afraid of the quiet or stillness of the Dark Moon, it is the best time and place to ask questions and listen for answers.

Are you ready to stand your ground? I love the image of the Seven of Wands; what could possibly make more mischief than a confident woman prepared, facing her detractors, and standing her ground? The very spirit of magic is within this act of defiance; and with magic, you can move any obstacle in your path.

TAKEAWAY: Be brave, be crazy, be witty, be wise, and get it done. You know what you need to do – SO DO IT!! Align serious thought with serious action, roll up your sleeves and make it happen. MAKE SOME MISCHIEF!

 Let’s talk about time.

“A stitch in time saves nine.” Benjamin Franklin

“Does anybody really know what time it is?” Terry Kath, Chicago Transit Authority

“Time is on our side.” Mick Jagger, Rolling Stones

“There’s no time left for you.”Burton Cummings, The Guess Who

“I’m late! I’m late! For a very important date!” The White Rabbit, Alice in Wonderland

There is nothing so earthly as the passage of time; energy is eternal, and there are no clocks in the cosmos – counting time is earthly, and strictly human. On this plane of existence, time is our most precious commodity; time spent, well or squandered, is gone forever. Time cannot be earned or replenished or replaced – gone is gone.

THE GOOD NEWS: You have the time you need for the projects you want to undertake.

THE BAD NEWS: You must get organized, commit, and get to work.

Time is a slippery thing; dragging after lunch at work, zipping while having lunch with friends. (This is  explained as experiential time – google it and be fascinated.) Because time is so easily wasted, making a plan is your best bet for success; plan the work, schedule time to work, set target dates to complete stages of the project. ((REMINDER: If you discover your time management too ambitious for your daily life, rework the plan – there is no shame in learning as you go.))

“The misuse of tools can lead to a mickle mess.” Barbara Moore

Ignorance may be bliss, and perhaps knowledge is power, but neither adage will offer much solace as we grapple with the reality of information we would rather not have.

Like it or not, there is information you need (and will be better off for having) no matter how much it hurts. Some examples:

  • Husband cheating.
  • Lover moved on without you.
  • Boss planning to pass you over.
  • Loved one received bad diagnosis.

Be bold and brave; ask the questions and tough out the answers, no matter how grim. You might not like any of what you learn but you will not be caught unaware when the time for action arrives.

Best of luck to all!!

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

To my thinking,  Ten of Pentacles is the ultimate Good new/bad news message.

  • THE GOOD NEWS: Everything you have worked so hard to attain has come to fruition.
  • THE BAD NEWS: You have arrived at the end of the line.

We are well aware all things come to an end; nothing exists in a vacuum and situations change over moments, days, weeks, or years, improving or deteriorating, but always inevitable. Do not think about it today; today, just enjoy. If you wish to preserve this happiness, consider:

  • Take many photos.
  • Write a personal account of your pathway to this current position.
  • Record a message for your future self.
  • Keep a journal of all the impressions, happiness and gratitude you are currently experiencing.

Later, when The Wheel has turned and things have changed, you will be able to remind yourself of this time; you will be able to draw peace and comfort from knowing success and happiness can be attained. Remember, you are not Fate’s victim, you are a participant.

04/01-03/16 WEEKEND: Three of Swords, King of Pentacles, Seven of Cups

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

WELCOME TO APRIL! We should be seeing Spring here in the American Midwest but instead, temps back down in the 30’s – joke’s on us, April Fools’!!

On the upside, the weekend is finely here! On the downside, it is has a bittersweet feel. Let us review the cards above as components:

  • Three of Swords: Knowledge brings sorrow.
  • King of Pentacles: Commanding the physical world as a driving force.
  • Seven of Cups: The lure of heart’s desires.

Putting them together, we get the saddening messages of love and longing misdirected by misplace motivation; what we know competes directly against how we feel, and what we want is not really in our best interest at this (or, probably, any other) time. We want what we want and we are prepared to chase it with our best resources but that is not the same as it being a good idea.

This would be a very good time to examine your motivations very closely. Do they align with your most authentic self, or do they serve a picture in your head? Are they your own from deep within, or were they pressed upon you from without? Do not be foolish this weekend; spend less time doing and more time contemplating – you may be saddened by what you find but you will be better off going forward with the self-understanding.

Also, be sure to lighten up and have some fun – if the weather is good where you are, spend some time outside. If not, make popcorn and enjoy a favorite old movie – I think I’ll be watching Sabrina (Billy Wilder original, thank you!).

03/31/16 Our Own Damn Fault. The Devil

“It’s bloody hard work keeping this thing going.” Barbara Moore

Devil Steam

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Let us begin with the most basic premise; we are each our own worst enemy.

Tuesday saw Nine of Swords (beating ourselves up with our own thoughts), Wednesday the Eight of Swords (reluctant to make necessary – read “healthy” – decisions). And now, The Devil (a mess of our own making and it must be cleaned up – by us).

This could be worse; since the week has been rolling in this direction, we are not so surprised – better still, we are not helpless. We have been cleaning up our thoughts, making the hard choices, and now we are ready to clean up the mess we made before we started to gather ourselves.

  • To much indulgence? Time to exercise!
  • Too much spending? Time to budget!
  • Too much wallowing? Time to shake it off and get the chores done!!

Do not concern yourself with thoughts or opinions of others – you have too much to do.

Head up, shoulders back, chest out, sleeves rolled up – GET TO IT!!

03/30/16 Time To Rise, Shining Optional. Eight of Swords

“It is easier to solve a problem when you can see it clearly.” Barbara Moore

8S Steam

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Yesterday, we came to the understanding our thoughts can (and will!) gang up on us when we least expect it.

Today, we realize our thoughts must be examined thoroughly – and honestly –  if we are to make good decisions.

Some days are just more difficult than others.

THE GOOD NEWS: It is still all about your own thoughts, and you are still in control of (and responsible for) those thoughts.

THE BAD NEWS: Some thoughts are unpleasant or require action we would prefer to avoid. (This changes nothing – it must be done!)

REMEMBER: You have the power to face your fears and make solid decisions.

TAKEAWAY: Not choosing may be a choice but it is always better to jump rather than fall.
