07/18/18: ROAD TRIP!!!!

“It doesn’t matter which direction you pick, as long as you pick one and get moving.”

Remember last week?

We talked about: a) preparing to go, b) being ready when the time to depart arrived, and c) going forward slowly in preparation for more rapid, committed movement.

We did not talk about the timing….it’s now. RIGHT F@#$ING NOW!

The Chariot is all about the movement – it’s time to go!

You can prepare forever but until you get moving, it has not real meaning.

You are as ready as you will eve be, so GO!

GOOD LUCK AND SAFE TRAVELS!!!

07/17/18: Better off knowing.

Our old friend has arrived once again; not all necessary information is welcome.

Too bad for us – here it is!

Keep your eyes and ears open; confirmation of what you already feel is en route – allow your self to be relieved rather than heartbroken, since you already knew  what you knew.

What does not kill you makes you stronger, sadder but wiser, and ready for the next thing.

Dry your eyes, pretty girl – you’re doing just fine.

07/16/18: Powering up!

In an effort to make yourself safe and secure, you are actually cutting off the flow of energy, resources and people into your life,”

Our week opens with an important caution:

Know the difference between saving and hoarding.

We can all agree upon the importance of fiscal responsibility (and we have the weekend’s reminder of practicality in the Page of Pentacles) but we cannot confuse building a nest egg with stifling our own flow.

Always remember, balance is the key in all things – including maintaining resources.

Have a great week!

07/13-15/18 WEEKEND: Home is wherever your heart lies.

Nurture. Nostalgia. Practicality.

Let this weekend be about personal grace; appreciate the people in your life, honor your past, help where you can.

What will this look like in practice?

For me, it will be moving my family into a new home – our first home – settling in and putting down roots.

What will it look like for you?

Whatever you decided to do, keep an attitude of gratitude in your heart; everything you do touches others in your life, be grateful for their presence as well as gracious in your dealings with them. REMINDER: We do not love people because they are perfect. (And that includes ourselves. 😉 )

Enjoy the weekend!

07/12/18: Kindness is the answer.

“Healing brings strength.”

Unless you have been in a coma during the first half of 2018, you cannot have helped but notice Gaia crying out for healing; earthquakes, floods, wild fires, tornadoes – a never-ending “storm season” all across the globe.

tumblr_nx97h1ZEw31qbazqao1_1280.jpg

Gaia will heal herself as always she has but we need to remember, she will not heal us – that is our own responsibility. The habitability of this planet is also our responsibility.

What are YOU going to do about it?!?!?!?!?!

Allow me to refer you to the title.

There is a decided lack of kindness at work right now – it is the only answer to the overwhelming need happening all over the planet. If you don’t believe me – although you certainly should – check this out from Lady Gaga:

We are not helpless; there is always something we can do to help someone else. If you cannot think of anything, consider the following acts of kindness:

  • Donate blood to the American Red Cross.
  • Donate households good and clothing to a church. (BONUS: You declutter!)
  • Help register people to vote.
  • Pick up trash in the park.
  • Volunteer – anywhere.

If you find the above list too daunting, start small.

  • Be nice to the barista – doesn’t matter if your name is wrong.
  • Smile at people you see in hallways or pass on the street.
  • Hold the elevator when you see someone coming.
  • Likewise, hold a door. (Gentlemen, I know you may have been spooked by this in the past – if she says “no, thank you” just tell her to have a nice day. And if a woman holds the door for you, just say “thank you” and walk through.)

KINDNESS IS THE ANSWER TO THE QUESTION

WHAT WILL YOU DO?!?!?!?!?

07/11/18: Reliable, not necessarily boring.

Our midweek gives us pause; we are not bored just because we are stable.

If you are feeling a pull for “excitement,” resist it!

This is not a time to upset your own apple cart.

Be grateful for the peace of quiet you are currently enjoying.

07/10/18: And in the end…

“They lived happily ever after.”

If you feel particularly blessed today, be grateful and say thank you.

If you do not feel particularly blessed, take a good look around, be grateful and say thank you. Twice.

Ten of Pentacles is all about abundance, safety, security, and comfort. No matter where you are in your life right now, an attitude of gratitude is called for.

REMINDER: The Ten indicates an end; goal achieved, time to reset. The importance of this particular caution is a reminder to live in the moment; this moment is particularly beautiful – do not miss it by looking ahead or behind. ENJOY!

07/09/18: TETHER THE ELEPHANTS!

“We’ll have just enough time to batten down the hatches before the storm hits.”

Monday starts out on a strong foot – you are ready for whatever happens next!

Storms may be on the horizon but you remain undaunted.

Odysseus has nothing on you – let the Sirens wail!!!!

On a more mundane note, be aware of obstacles this week; when the week starts off with strong encouragement, expect you may need it before the week is out. Personally, I read my own signs; if my day starts off with dropped shampoo bottles, spilled coffee and catching every red light, I declare it “Obstacle Day.” So warned, I must move forward knowing things will test my patience, and I must be particularly gracious with everyone, starting with myself.

WELCOME TO MONDAY!

07/06-08/18 WEEKEND: Go your own way.

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Nurture. Departure. Truth.

As the weekend arrives, let us take a lesson from Lewis Carroll, The Walrus and the Carpenter. (See poem below.)

Pay close attention to the people around you – are you being nurtured or “fattened”? The truth will out as always it does but you do not want to find yourself on the wrong end – time to move on your own terms, towards your own goals.

Be brave, be careful, be you. You can do it – do not let anyone lead you away from your truth.

“The sun was shining on the sea,

      Shining with all his might:
He did his very best to make
The billows smooth and bright —
And this was odd, because it was
      The middle of the night.
The moon was shining sulkily,
      Because she thought the sun
Had got no business to be there
After the day was done —
“It’s very rude of him,” she said,
“To come and spoil the fun.”
The sea was wet as wet could be,
The sands were dry as dry.
You could not see a cloud, because
No cloud was in the sky:
No birds were flying overhead —
There were no birds to fly.
The Walrus and the Carpenter
      Were walking close at hand;
They wept like anything to see
      Such quantities of sand:
If this were only cleared away,’
They said, it would be grand!’
If seven maids with seven mops
Swept it for half a year,
Do you suppose,’ the Walrus said,
That they could get it clear?’
I doubt it,’ said the Carpenter,
      And shed a bitter tear.
O Oysters, come and walk with us!’
      The Walrus did beseech.
A pleasant walk, a pleasant talk,
      Along the briny beach:
We cannot do with more than four,
To give a hand to each.’
The eldest Oyster looked at him,
But never a word he said:
The eldest Oyster winked his eye,
And shook his heavy head —
Meaning to say he did not choose
      To leave the oyster-bed.
But four young Oysters hurried up,
      All eager for the treat:
Their coats were brushed, their faces washed,
Their shoes were clean and neat —
And this was odd, because, you know,
      They hadn’t any feet.
Four other Oysters followed them,
      And yet another four;
And thick and fast they came at last,
And more, and more, and more —
All hopping through the frothy waves,
      And scrambling to the shore.
The Walrus and the Carpenter
Walked on a mile or so,
And then they rested on a rock
      Conveniently low:
And all the little Oysters stood
      And waited in a row.
The time has come,’ the Walrus said,
      To talk of many things:
Of shoes — and ships — and sealing-wax —
Of cabbages — and kings —
And why the sea is boiling hot —
      And whether pigs have wings.’
But wait a bit,’ the Oysters cried,
      Before we have our chat;
For some of us are out of breath,
And all of us are fat!’
No hurry!’ said the Carpenter.
They thanked him much for that.
A loaf of bread,’ the Walrus said,
      Is what we chiefly need:
Pepper and vinegar besides
      Are very good indeed —
Now if you’re ready, Oysters dear,
      We can begin to feed.’
But not on us!’ the Oysters cried,
      Turning a little blue.
After such kindness, that would be
      A dismal thing to do!’
The night is fine,’ the Walrus said.
      Do you admire the view?
It was so kind of you to come!
      And you are very nice!’
The Carpenter said nothing but
      Cut us another slice:
I wish you were not quite so deaf —
I’ve had to ask you twice!’
It seems a shame,’ the Walrus said,
To play them such a trick,
After we’ve brought them out so far,
And made them trot so quick!’
The Carpenter said nothing but
      The butter’s spread too thick!’
I weep for you,’ the Walrus said:
      I deeply sympathize.’
With sobs and tears he sorted out
      Those of the largest size,
Holding his pocket-handkerchief
      Before his streaming eyes.
O Oysters,’ said the Carpenter,
      You’ve had a pleasant run!
Shall we be trotting home again?’
But answer came there none —
And this was scarcely odd, because
      They’d eaten every one.”
