((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))
Movement. Preparation. Disappointment. Regret.
What will you do with 2018?
Whatever your personal plans for improvement, be sure to have some flexibility in your approach; there is more than one way to do pretty much everything, so be patient with yourself. If your first plan is not as successful as you hoped, make some changes.
FIRST CAUTION: Do not allow disappointments to become setbacks.
There will always be disappointments; sometimes, we can’t get what we want or what we need – and that tends to be a bitter pill – but we cannot allow the disappointment to derail our plans. Turns out he doesn’t love you? That is sad but better to know than to live a lie. You didn’t get the promotion you wanted? Maybe it’s time to move on to a new employer. Whatever the disappointment, accept the challenge and make the changes necessary.
SECOND CAUTION: There is no time for regret.
Regret is easily the most useless and destructive of all human emotions, serving no positive or practical purpose. What’s more, wallowing in regret is a self-indulgent waste of time and energy. DON’T DO IT!!
