“Consider repercussions in the future. Your victory may cost more than it is worth.” Barbara Moore
((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))
Five of Swords returns; look over your shoulder twice as you proceed.
Everyone does NOT love a winner, particularly not the losers, and you may find too many opponents to face on your own.
REMINDER: NEVER EVER FORGET THE IMPORTANCE OF GRACE IN VICTORY!
I would never suggest holding back; if you’re in it, be there to win it! And if you should win, consider the importance of congratulating your opponents on a game well-played; perhaps buy the first round? Any measure of gracious acceptance of your role as winner will help smooth some feathers (buy a round of beer, perhaps?).
REMINDER 2: YOU MAY BE ARE INVITED BUT DON’T HAVE TO ATTEND.
Discretion is the better part of valor, and there is definitely something to be said for sitting this one out; take a pass, cheer from the sidelines, perhaps skip it altogether. There is no shame whatsoever in living to fight another day.
After all, it is your energy – spend it wisely.
