11/02/16 You’re going to carry that weight. Ten of Wands

“What is more burdensome; the past that is known, or the future that is unknown?” Barbara Moore

When last we saw our heroes, they were setting off on a new adventure (see 11/01/16 entry The Fool). Today, we see the over-stuffed baggage packed for the trip.

TAKEAWAY: Travel lightly!!

The instinct to prepare for every possibility is not a bad one; no one wants to bleed to death for want of a bandage. However, and this really is the most important bit, you cannot get very far if you are overburdened from the very start. You have been planning to the point of obsession in 2016 but you did not extend decluttering to your travel kit. Time to get down to the essentials; if it cannot fit in the backpack, it stays behind.

REMEMBER: Do not travel with anything you cannot afford to lose.

Obviously, I am not just talking about books and underwear. The purpose of decluttering your life is to leave you surrounded by that which is purposeful, necessary, and joyful. If you have done this (as the cards have been advising throughout 2016!), traveling light should not be too difficult. If you have not, get to it – start with the load you are carrying right now!

  • Are you dreading the upcoming holidays because of past family insults and injuries? You need to let that go; start new traditions if you feel the old ones have failed you.
  • Are you holding on to past bitterness from disappointment? Release yourself with this reminder – if you did not get you wanted, it was not yours in the first place.
  • Are you collecting/hoarding too much stuff (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual) because you do not want to be “alone?” Teach yourself you are all you need because Divine Light is already yours.

Success or failure is entirely up to you; do not begin your adventure with burdens to heavy to carry beyond the first few steps – lighten your load, do not be afraid to fly.
