Have you recovered from the holidays? Good! Imbolc is upon us!
The mid-way point between Winter Solstice (Yule) and Spring Equinox (Ostara), a lovely reminder Winter cannot last forever, try though it might to make us feel it is so.
Winter is half over! How will you spend the remaining time? The cards above suggest the time is well-spent taking positive care of ourselves and our home; have you been eating too many winter comfort foods, drinking too much spiked coffee, or ignoring your exercise routine? Start taking better care of yourself, your home and your family.
Consider turning some traditional Imbolc rituals into activities preparing for the coming Spring:
FEASTING (on healthy meals): Are you eating at the table with your family? Plan some healthy family meals to be prepared and shared – on the weekend if that is the only time available to you – Imbolc weekend, and any other weekend for that matter. It is a good, healthy habit for a family to have, and this is the perfect time to start it.
NESTING: Perhaps you have been doing more hibernating than attending to your chores? This is the perfect weekend to get back on track with some nesting. Clean one room at a time, sweeping the floors aggressively. Consider adding some new decorative touches inviting Spring to arrive early. Not only will your home be more comfortable and beautiful but it will also help remove negativity settled in the closed-up Winter home.
ENJOY: As always, enjoy the time you can spend with family, friends, and loved ones. Make sure you are spending quality time with the people who matter to you. Do not allow inclement weather to keep you from your loved one.
