The High Priestess has returned this week with a double dose – and we really need it!

If you have been watching the news, you know it seems as if retreat is in order. This could not be farther from the truth! She’s here to make sure you know it is time to double down, and to remind you:  Audaces Fortuna juvat!

It is okay to be shaken, sad, angry. It is not okay to shut down or withdraw. It is not okay to be moved from your own path. Keep your strides long, strong, purposeful and mindful. Keep trying, risking, learning, and loving. Always loving because no matter what you do, love is the answer.

UNIVERSAL TRUTH: Sometimes you win, sometimes you learn.

The wheel never stops turning; nothing lasts forever and change is inevitable. Do not waste your most precious resources – time, energy, engagement – resisting or avoiding change; you may not choose the changes but you can certainly choose how you handle them. Choose wisely.

Because the Wheel turns through no effort of our own, you may notice there are opportunities to sit out some of the more dramatic instances. When these opportunities arise, take advantage of them.

ALL, HAIL!! THE WEEKEND HAS FINALLY ARRIVED!!!

I cannot speak to anyone else’s boots on the ground this week, but good heavens, my feet hurt!  Gratefully, the weekend has arrived  – maybe a little extra rest will be useful for many people (I know I need it!).

Let’s look our our card components:

• Eight of Swords: precarious situation
• Three of Pentacles: goal(s) manifesting
• Nine of Pentacles: accomplishment 

Let’s put it all together: you’ve been working hard with nothing (or what seemed like nothing) to show for it other than your own exhaustion but you are now beginning to see tangible results of a positive, promising variety – it’s okay to feel good about this! – and you are headed towards the big win. ALL GOOD – right?

Mostly – you’re finally moving forward but that does not mean your current course does not need adjustment. Make sure your hard work includes keeping your eyes open for any changes – subtle or obvious – improving your course.

Also important, do not forget to enjoy yourself – the journey is not an endurance run to the end so stop holding your breath – be present in every moment and enjoy whatever you can.

LIVE IN THE MOMENT!!

Seems so simple a directive, and yet so often, we do not do it. What are we doing instead? Planning future errands? Wishing to relive a past joy? As one well-meaning but rather coarse woman once explained, “If you have one foot in yesterday and another foot in tomorrow, you’re going to piss on today.”

Make the best of this day. It is here, it is real and it is yours. Enjoy it.

I know what you are thinking, “Oh, please do tell! How could you?” Well, I’ll tell you!

The Seven of Swords = OPPORTUNITY!

You have two choices; allow someone else to take what is yours, or reach out and take what you want. Both are great options – and frankly, you can have both if you are quick and clever.

• Someone trying to take something from you? Are you sure you want to keep it? Is it a box of snakes you’d be better off without? Is it time-consuming when you’d rather be doing something else? Have you read Tom Sawyer? Use this position to your advantage and clean out your closets.
• What do you have your eyes on? What is the prize? Are you chasing it? Are you prepared to “steal” it? Are you relentless in your pursuit, or are you dabbling? Time to decide what you want and how hard you are willing to work for it. GO FOR IT!!
