09/08/16 Where’s the love? Five of Swords

“He may have all the swords now, but I warrant someone will find something else to stab in his back.” Barbara Moore

5S Steam

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Everyone does NOT love a winner. You know it. I know it. Let’s just know it together and move on to dealing with it.

No matter how hard you try, your “win” will appear as someone else’s “loss.” This would be fine, except there will always be people who feel obliged to “get even” rather than learn lessons and work on themselves for future challenges. There will always be people who see your “winning” as “getting to big” or “forgetting your place,” and these people must be dealt with carefully. Be aware of any manipulation or bullying, no matter how cleverly disguised (although, it usually isn’t particularly well-hidden).

TAKEAWAY: Enjoy your victory but be aware you may need to defend it. The world is full of sore losers, and some of them may be looking at you.

09/07/16 Keeping your own counsel? Good. The Hermit

“To see the glow of your own light, go into the dark.” Barbara Moore

Hermit Steam

((The steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

The Hermit has had much to say as of late – he appears and reappears fairly regularly, and always with the same simple message: go your own way.

The regular reappearance suggests the message needs regular reinforcement – not hard to imagine in an e-media age where we are constantly plugged in, deluged with “information” and steadily losing knowledge and wisdom. The Hermit reminds us (chastises us, really), “You know better than that. Knock it off and get moving.”

We are also warned with freedom and power come responsibility. If things go awry, The Hermit must stand tall and handle it – no one to blame, may not delegate.

Intimidated? Don’t be. You’ve been gearing up for quite some time and you are ready. Do not allow outside detractors to muddy your path – keep your own counsel (unless absolutely necessary to consult another Hermit, i.e. physician, attorney, CPA, etc.) and follow what you know to be true.

It’s your trail to blaze – get moving!

09/06/16 I know I can. Two of Pentacles

2C Steam

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore and Fell))

Walking the street or riding a bicycle, the answer is the same; one foot in front of the other gets you where you want to go, as long as you have a sense of balance.

What does September have in store for us? Likely, we will have an opportunity to put into motion all the plans we have been making, reformulating, and finalizing – and a good thing, too! We are ready to move!

HOWEVER, don’t be in too big a hurry. Balance your need for speed with your know to slow; faster will not always be better, and you will need to assess as you progress. Remember to work smart rather than hard – save the energy for when hard work is the only answer.

TAKEAWAY:  You’ve got what it takes, now get going.

2016 LABOR DAY WEEKEND: Time to start something new

 FullSizeRender

((The Steampunk Tarot, Moore an Fell))

Can you believe it? Labor Day Weekend has arrived!

This very last hurrah of Summer is also the unofficial start of Fall.

September has arrived, and the air is already becoming cooler and crisper. Personally, I am excited to break out my sweaters, boots, and scarves. I look forward to turning leaves, warmed cider, pumpkins, and heating up the oven for baking.

The cards above are perfect for this long weekend; a reminder to have fun, count your blessings, look yourself in the eye, and get moving. Fall is here and Winter is coming; you’ve been making plans and improvements all year (remember, the year of “unhinged,” according to Madame Lucy Zolonga), and we have now arrived well into the back end of 2016. Time to set off in a new direction, under your own power, your own way.

Speaking for myself, I have been thinking about spellwork and blessings, gathering ingredients and information, setting up sacred spaces within my home. I am looking forward to a warm holiday season, welcoming my tribe to my home and hearth.

It is a new month, a new season, and a time for a new pathway; where will yours take you?

Just in case you may have forgotten, Fall is a festive time of harvest celebration as well as preparation for Winter. I very much enjoy the following Fall Bucket List and recommend you design one of your own.
