Because you know a job worth doing is worth doing well, you apply your energy to perfecting the process, and thereby the results; working smart rather than hard is always a good idea but be sure to ask yourself,

“Where is the humanity?”

I am not saying we shouldn’t try to do our best – we certainly should – I am saying we must not allow a quest for perfection to remove our humanity from our creations. It is your art, make it your way – do not feel compelled to make smooth all the edges or dull the colors for mass appeal or comfort. A little discomfort is good for us – makes us think and feel in new ways.

Spring has arrived and while you are very busy creating, remember to include your heart and your passion in your work – no matter how messy it feels.

The Vernal Equinox brings us the official start of Spring this week – are you ready? If you have not already started your Spring cleaning/purging to make way for the new, get to it.

There will be a great deal of creative energy  and growth upon us this week – ready or not, here it comes! – and you will not want to miss it.

PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: Spring cleaning should include energy! Simmer (uncovered) lavender, sage, and rosemary on your stove top; the steam released will cleanse the energy in your home. Strain the liquid, put it in a spray bottle with vodka (approximately 50/50 solution), and use it to spray thresholds and windowsills to help cleanse energy as it comes into your home.  As always, be happy, safe, and well.

INTENTIONS MATTER!!!!

It is not enough to know “Reap what you sow!” and “What goes around comes around!” You must also be mindful in your thoughts, deeds and words as each and every one of them is a conversation with The Universe.

THE UNIVERSE IS ALWAYS LISTENING!!!!

If you insist on thinking – or worse, speaking! –  dark or negative thoughts (i.e. “Nothing ever works out for me,” “If I didn’t have bad luck, I’d have no luck at all.” and “It probably won’t work, anyway.”), you will continually draw negative energy and lower vibrations to you and your intentions, and your manifestations will suffer accordingly. 

YOU CREATE YOUR OWN KARMA!!!!

Your life is not “happening” to you, you are creating it – every day with everything you do – SO PAY ATTENTION!!!

Your analysis paralysis is has become tedious and selfish; other people have decisions to make, and they are waiting on you. You have thought about it long enough. Get it together, make a decision, and move it along.

REMINDER: Not choosing is also a choice. It is foolish (not in a good way!) to allow others to choose for you; YOU will still be responsible for what happens next – it should be up to you!

Our new week begins with a fairly long list of responsibilities threatening to be burdensome if they are not properly managed. 

A more traditional reading of Five of Pentacles would include hardship, want, or loss, but not this time. And while we may not be suffering an embarrassment of riches, our true need has more to do with time than money; time is our most valuable resource, and there never seems to be enough of it. 

Fortunately, we are not alone in this.

This week, do not be afraid to ask for help, accept assistance, or delegate tasks.

This is your week – do not let anything stop you from making it fabulous!!

March is a time of  transformation; snow turns to rain as Winter turns to Spring, and the  trees begin to bud while the bulbs’ flowers break through the ground. It’s amazing. It’s beautiful. It’s hard work. 

It takes resources; time, energy, earth.

Our own transformations are no less vital, no less difficult, and we are no less equipped. Do not allow fatigue to get the better of you. Do not be fooled;  “tired” often masquerades as “can’t” and that just ain’t so!

REMINDER: SELF-CARE IS CRITICAL TO CREATION AND TRANSFORMATION!!!

You are as powerful as you want to be but you still need to power down from time to time. Take a long hot shower, burn incense, watch chick-flicks, whatever – feed your heart and soul as well as your body.

PRACTICAL MAGIC TIP: Fresh herbs (basil, cilantro, chives), ginger root and garlic are not only delicious and versatile in cooking, they also feed your internal fire; add them where you can,together or separately, and allow them to increase your vitality from within – after all, you are here to live out loud!
