The Summer has fully arrived, the US celebrates Independence this week, and everyone wants to go to the beach!
In the US, this will be a choppy work week – Wednesday is a federal holiday and many people are taking vacations this week – and it seems a ridiculous time to talk about working harder. And yet…
The appearance of Eight of Pentacles heralds an opportunity for improvement; small changes can yield big results over time if you are both patient and meticulous. This is a good time to review and revise; what areas of your life could benefit from improvement?
REMINDER: Pentacles are slow moving earth energy. You do not need to move quickly with this energy – you have time to think and plan. Make small changes, maybe one at a time, and allow yourself to learn and grow with the new plan.

Patience is a virtue today; you cannot rush the process.
There are often times when we cannot see ourselves making progress; we may not feel successful, or “far enough.” We can torture ourselves with self-imposed deadlines and imaginary benchmarks. We really should knock it off because when you get right down to it, the speed of your progress is not as important as the progress itself.
Give yourself a break – take a look around, see how far you have actually come, and be grateful.

Winning seems to be a driving priority for us all but have you ever noticed how few people seem to understand the responsibility that accompanies victory?
Take a good look at the card above; her victory leaves her with responsibilities she must shoulder on her own. What does she do? She organizes them into a bundle, straps it to her back, and moves steadily forward with long, strong strides. She moves with purpose.
George Bailey (It’s a Wonderful Life – google is your friend, check it out.) knew he had responsibilities but he did not realize how that translated into actual people depending on him, some for their very lives. Let today be the day you realize not only how far you have traveled but also how well; how many others benefit from your success? Think of the many ways you have touched others – family, friends, loved ones, communities, small businesses – with your own life.
Choose to be your best self each day; live in the moment, be mindful, and know your life matters.

Nothing says “Let’s get this party started!” like The Fool, and here he is – backing up The World (yesterday’s draw) to underline the message. It’s time to get going.
No matter how perfect your plan may be, until you actually take the first step forward, it is meaningless; analysis paralysis results in a great many things never being accomplished because they were never started.
The Fool doesn’t have time for that – he’s ready to go right now, and so he shall. With or without you! This energy may seem impetuous but do not be Fool-ed! He knows when it is time to get the ball rolling.
If you choose not to capitalize on this energy (and that is always your option), you may regret it later; most of the Summer energy is speaks to progress of projects underway rather than starting fresh. Ask yourself: what do you want the rest of this year to look like? What do you want to accomplish?

You may not have everything you want but you are well on your way towards successful manifestation – I hope you were careful in setting your intentions because you are about to get whatever you said you wanted. Best of luck!
In addition to successful endings, The World is also about starting fresh. After you take your bow, it is time to leave the stage, move on to the next gig.
This week also brings us Full Moon in Virgo – a get-it-done! energy for sure. Be sure to include a humble request for a lighted pathway after you have fully expressed your attitude of gratitude. A little extra guidance can only help.

Enjoying Summer (or any other season for that matter), is a personal choice. Striking balance in your life becomes increasingly important as we live in a time of never-ending media and news cycles. Try to remember there was a time when television went “off the air” every night, people actually spoke to each other (rather than at or around), and went to bed early enough to get their eight hours of sleep. Sounds “old-fashioned”? Perhaps but that is not the same as “not a good idea.”**
So as we officially kick-off the Summer, choose to bring balance into your life; value the importance of play, recognize you are a part of a greater whole, and be grateful.
**Let’s not get it twisted; many old-fashioned ideas are very well better left in the past but unplugging, relating directly to others, and a good night’s sleep are NOT on that list.
