Mary, Mary, quite contrary, tell me – from where does your burden grow? Is it secured in a past you have faced, or in a future you do not know?

This time of year, it is undoubtedly a good dose of each. Past holiday memories, both good and not so good, create standards we feel we must meet or exceed. Future (including the current season!) events carry the weight of unfulfilled promise – this year will be better! – and best laid plans to make new fabulous memories.

Forewarned is forearmed; give yourself a break, do not put unnecessary pressure on yourself, on others, or on the holidays.
